The Governments of Austria, Hungary and Slovenia expressed a commitment to more coordinated regional development of border regions and through this, promoting a more active involvement at local level in regional development issues. The project involved the following components: a) strategy and programme development for cross-border cooperation between regions in the three countries concerned; b) actions to support an integrated approach towards regional and local development; and c) institutional and capacity building and public awareness activities, including a website (www.tri-d.org).
